-Five million people, mostly children, die each year from water-borne diseases. (UN Millennium Project)
-600 million children live in absolute poverty. (Millennium Campaign)

-The number of youth in the world surviving on less than a dollar a day in 2000 was an estimated 238 million, almost a quarter (22.5 per cent) of the world’s total youth population. (United Nations Population Fund)

Life is the greatest of the world's favours and being alive is the best occurrence. We all have what it takes to enjoy it and hey we never worked to be given life. What a free gift. I worked and spent a lot of time with W.K Joseph and I know what he believes. In my path of existence one lesson from my mentor Oby Obyerodhyambo, that "... life gives you the exam before the lesson". A tricky situation isn't it? Hey, here is the leakage. True there are moments when your limits are put to test, but it is also extremely true that it is just a temporary setback. Think of what worst situation you ever were in that today you still are in. Now, Live to your satisfaction by setting achievable targets, Keep your focus (MUST) on what you perceive as "the good things in life" and move patiently towards them. Finally, while at the rock bottom, just know you are at the end and if you got to move whichever way, then it will be upwards. And while on top, keep your balance, but appreciate the next direction you might move, in order to check your gabions. Please let me know if you think like me coz am a really happy person.

tony i think i am like you and very happy at that..i am a great believer in self-definition of what constitutes happiness and then judging myself by it and it really works! i am not about to judge myself based on standards set by others..so tony..kudos!..and i also want to concur with zenny about the kind of stuff that NGOs bog us with..all those statistics, and doomsday stuff..i mean..what are we supposed to do? describing the problem isnt enough and i think if individuals did their bit, we would slowly creep out of situations that are so aptly described!
